Shanghai Ranking of Global Universities (ARWU)
The Shanghai Ranking, or the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), was first published in 2003 by the Institute of Higher Education at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Since 2009, it has been released by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy, an independent organization dedicated to scientific research in higher education.
The University of Jordan Shanghai global ranking, being ranked among the top 701–800 universities worldwide. It is the only university in Jordan and one of just 19 Arab universities to be included in this ranking for 2022. The University maintained its position as the first and only ranked Jordanian university for 2023 and 2024.
In the 2024 Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, the University of Jordan (UJ) achieved notable positions in several subjects:
- Dentistry & Oral Sciences: Ranked 201–300 globally.
- Nursing: Ranked 201–300 globally .
- Mathematics: Ranked 301–400 globally.
- Education: Ranked 401–500 globally.
