University of Jordan Participates in Arab-ACRAO Conference on Admissions, Registration and Global Rankings

The University of Jordan (UJ) took part in the 42nd Annual Conference of the Arab Association of Registrars and Admissions Officers in Arab Universities (Arab ACRAO), held in Hammamet, Tunisia, in cooperation with the University of Tunis El Manar and the University of Carthage. The conference was convened under the theme “The Role of Admissions and Registration in Enhancing the Global Ranking of Universities.” UJ was represented by Vice President for Accreditation, Global Rankings and Sustainability Prof. Faleh Sawair and Registrar General Shaker Mohammed Abu Dalu, underscoring the University’s commitment to regional academic engagement and the exchange of practical experience in admissions, registration and ranking related processes. The conference featured specialized workshops examining how admissions and registration offices can strengthen universities’ international standing. Discussions also addressed the growing influence of artificial intelligence, higher education policies and digital transformation on administrative effectiveness, operational efficiency and ranking performance indicators. As part of the program, Sawair led a workshop titled “Strengthening Universities’ Impact Linked to the Sustainable Development Goals,” highlighting the importance of embedding the SDGs into academic and research policies and the role this plays in enhancing institutional visibility and reputation within global ranking frameworks. The participation aligns with UJ’s ongoing efforts to strengthen admissions and registration systems and advance university wide priorities in quality assurance, sustainability and innovation, supporting the University’s regional and international profile.
