University of Jordan Earns UN Tourism TedQual Accreditation for Its Tourism Management Program

The University of Jordan (UJ) has achieved a new milestone by earning the UN Tourism TedQual Accreditation for its Tourism Management Program at the School of Archaeology and Tourism. The accreditation, granted by the United Nations Tourism (UN Tourism), recognizes the program’s academic excellence and outstanding learning environment. UJ president Prof. Nathir Obeidat expressed pride in this achievement, noting that it reflects the university’s unwavering commitment to quality and excellence in education. “We are dedicated to fostering an innovative learning environment that equips our students to lead the tourism industry with confidence and vision,” he said. Dean of the School of Archaeology and Tourism Prof. Ismail Abu Amoud emphasized that the accreditation further strengthens the program’s academic standing both locally and internationally. He noted that the Department of Tourism Management scored 82 out of 100 in a comprehensive evaluation covering students, curriculum, industry engagement, faculty performance, and alignment with the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism. Abu Amoud also extended appreciation to the university administration, faculty, and staff for their collective efforts that led to this accomplishment, which places the University of Jordan among a select group of universities worldwide recognized by UN Tourism TedQual, reaffirming its leadership in tourism education.
