The University of Jordan Ranks Ninth in the Arab Region and Third in Employability According to QS Arab 2025 Rankings

The University of Jordan announced on October 18, 2024, that it has secured ninth place in the Arab region and first place nationally in the QS Arab 2025 Rankings. This accomplishment reaffirms the university's position as one of the region’s top educational institutions. The university made notable progress in this year's overall score, climbing four positions from last year, reflecting its commitment to continuous development. Key Achievement in Employability The university achieved a significant leap by ranking third in employability among Arab universities, advancing two places from the previous year, placing it among the top 1% of universities in the Arab region in this category. University President Dr. Nathir Obeidat stated that being ranked among the top ten Arab universities highlights the university's role as a leader in the region, committed to providing high-quality education and purposeful research. He added that the progress in employability reflects the distinction of the university’s graduates in the labor market. This achievement is a result of the university’s continuous efforts to develop academic programs aligned with market needs, integrate essential employability skills into the curriculum, and focus on language, digital, and soft skills, as well as professional skills specific to each discipline. Global Recognition Obeidat noted that the university’s success extends beyond the Arab region. It ranked 197th globally in employability and 110th worldwide in graduate outcomes according to the QS World Rankings 2025 announced last June, reflecting the international reputation of the university's graduates. He also highlighted the excellent performance of the university’s graduates in international exams, such as the USMLE for medical students, along with other global tests in various fields, enhancing their competitiveness on the global stage. Additional Achievements The university also secured sixth place in the Arab region for academic reputation, placing it among the top 2% of Arab universities in this category. This success is attributed to the outstanding faculty members and researchers, many of whom are graduates of the world’s top universities, excelling in research, education, and administration both regionally and globally. The university advanced to fourth place in the Arab region for web impact, climbing four positions from the previous year. This progress is due to the rich content available on the university's website, offering comprehensive information on scientific research, research groups, and academic resources for students and researchers. Moreover, the University of Jordan ranked 368th globally in the QS World University Rankings 2025, confirming its status as a leading global institution. It also excelled in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025, earning high rankings across the five main scientific fields and achieving top 500 status in 17 out of 19 specific subjects. The QS Arab Rankings are based on ten key indicators including academic reputation, employability, quality of education, research output, and international impact that measures the university's global influence.
