Chaired by the Vice President for Global Rankings and International Accreditation, the Office of Global Rankings and International Accreditation held a meeting at the School of Pharmacy to discuss the QS Subject Report 2024, attended by the Dean of the School of Pharmacy and several faculty members. The Vice President highlighted the position of the University of Jordan in research, comparing it to previous years, noting that in 2023, the university accounted for 19% of research output in Jordan, with 83% of this being published scientific articles, and 45% in the field of Life Sciences. He also addressed Jordan's position in the region concerning scientific publication and emphasized the importance of international research collaboration and research groups, which can enhance citation rates and the impact of research output at the University of Jordan. The meeting included a presentation on the status of the School of Pharmacy in research, focusing on the number of published works, citation metrics, international collaboration, and partnerships with the industry. Additionally, the QS Subject 2024 criteria were discussed, including academic reputation, employment reputation, citations, impact factor, and international research collaboration. The report reviewed the ranking of the School of Pharmacy's disciplines over the past years in the QS Subject classification, the current detailed ranking of the School's disciplines compared to the previous year, and the results of the School of Pharmacy's disciplines in the QS Subject 2024 report, with detailed comparisons to previous years' results. Further meetings will be held in each school to discuss the QS Subject 2024 report, to outline the next steps and distribute tasks among the committee members in each school.
