UJ's Sustainability Committee convened for a pivotal meeting last week, under the leadership of Vice President Professor Alsawair, signaling a significant step forward in nurturing environmental consciousness and promoting eco-friendly practices throughout the university community. The gathering was attended by esteemed committee members representing various schools and centers, including Professor Awawdeh, Dr. Ayyadi, Dr. Abu-Hajar, Dr. Kassab, Dr. Shibly, Dr. Rahbeh, Dr. Qur’oush, Dr. Mahasneh, Dr. Al-Hasan, Dr. Boshmaf, and Dr. Halalsheh. During the meeting, discussions revolved around implementing sustainable initiatives across the campus. Among the key topics addressed were UJ's participation in training programs focused on sustainability, and assessment tools used to measure sustainability knowledge and literacy. Furthermore, members brainstormed outreach projects aimed at community engagement, as well as initiatives promoting health and wellbeing and good governance practices. Announcement were made for the upcoming awareness lectures with the titles:” Green and sustainable science for society”, “Higher Education and the sustainable development goals” and “The future impact of climate change on Jordan." The meeting showed the committee's commitment to making a real difference at the university and in the wider community.
