The International Affairs Unit announces its need to assign one (1) researcher
to work on the project:
“Nature-Based Solutions for Climate-Resilient Mediterranean Cities – NBS4MED”
funded by Interreg NEXT MED, for a period of 12 months (renewable), with prof. Jawad Albakri according to the following requirements:

2. Required Skills and Experience
Excellent command of English (reading, writing, and speaking), including scientific writing (reports for international organizations or scientific papers).
Basic knowledge of any GIS software, with the ability to read maps, perform modeling, and use decision-support tools.
General project coordination skills, ability to prepare presentations, and ability to draft and format reports using existing templates or by creating new ones based on previous reports.
Proficiency in using digital tools and open-source resources.
Personal skills: teamwork, initiative, ability to learn independently, professionalism, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge areas: nature-based solutions, water and environmental challenges in Jordan, climate change, GIS and remote sensing.

The University of Jordan, Jordan – partner of the NBS4MED project (Nature based solutions for climate resilient Mediterranean cities) – is seeking a full time Researcher to support the project activities and implementation of work packages. The NBS4MED project, co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme, aspires to transform urban climate adaptation strategies in the Mediterranean by advancing the adoption of nature-based solutions (NBS) and their broad integration in urban climate resilience planning.
Roles of the Researcher
The Researcher will work with the UOJ team on developing climate adaptation strategies, tools and best practices on the form of transferred knowledge from different pilots to Jordan to enhance the country's capacity in implementing Nature Based Solutions to climate change. The activities will include reviewing of all initiatives and documents related to NBS in Jordan and the MR, summarizing all documents and policy papers needed for NBS, visiting pilots in the MR and assessing implemented interventions, transfer of knowledge and building up all necessary tools for NBS, jointly with key stakeholders.
