In order to apply for any exchange program, you have to check if your university has a student exchange agreement with UJ. The application can be accessed through the following link http://offices.ju.edu.jo/en/oir/Pages/incoming.aspx The filled out application should be sent by email or fax by your home institution to the Office of International Relations (OIR) at UJ: Email: studentexchange.oirp@ju.edu.jo Fax: +962 6 5300819 The following documents should be attached to the application form: - Nomination letter from home university. - Personal photo (scanned). - Copy of passport page with personal information. - Transcript of Records. - Copy of bachelor degree or master’s degree certificate for students applying for postgraduate courses.

Once OIR receives the application it will be evaluated for eligibility for the program. If there are any issues or missing documents, you will be contacted for clarification. Only Female on-campus dorms are available, but the waiting lists are very long and it is highly unlikely you will be able to reside on campus. There are many private-run dorms within walking distance from campus with monthly rents ranging from 250-350 JOD (~US$ 350-500). For help with accommodation options please contact Mr. Jihad Fraij at jihad.oirp@ju.edu.jo or studentexchange.oirp@ju.edu.jo

For regular university courses: Incoming students should have language skills that enable them to follow classes in Arabic and/or English. This can be documented by standardized test scores or attestation from a language professor that the student is proficient enough to follow classes in the appropriate language. Except for beginner level courses, students wishing to follow foreign language classes in Spanish, Italian, French, German, Russian, Turkish, Chinese and Korean have skills in the appropriate language documented by standardized test scores or attestation from a language professor that the student is proficient enough to follow classes in the appropriate language. Arabic Language for Speakers of other Languages: No language proficiency is required for students wishing to study Arabic Language for Speakers of other Languages. They will be placed at the appropriate level after taking placement test upon arrival.

Yes, there is a large number of English taught courses from a wide range of fields at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels to choose from. Starting from The University of Jordan main website (www.ju.edu.jo) you can find the study plans and the course descriptions by following the links Academics _____ Appropriate faculty _____ Departments _____ Study plan. Course descriptions can be found in the study plan. The registration page where you can find the course schedule online is http://registration.ju.edu.jo/en/english/home.aspx. The link to each faculty will show codes and the titles of courses. On the link (http://regweb3.ju.edu.jo:7777/reginqapp/OfrdCorsEngInq.jsp?x), if an (/English) is written next to the course title then the course is definitely taught in English (e.g. Principles of Psychology/English). If there is no (/English) next to the course title then it might be taught in Arabic or English or a mix of both. We cannot offer a general answer, but when you choose a list of courses to study from, we can check them course by course and let you know. Most of the courses at the School of Business and the scientific faculties, however, are taught in English.

For undergraduate students, a full load is 15 credit hours of regular course work. For postgraduate students a full load is 9 credit hours of regular course load. The number of credit hours will be less for students who also study Arabic for Speakers of other Languages at UJ’s Language Centre.

You should pass by OIR where you will be guided by the staff through the registration process.
