EU Projects at the University of Jordan
Agro Technology VET Centres to Network and Train Future Farmers in Jordan and Palestine

The main goal of the project is to establish a network of agro-technological centres in the partner

universities of Jordan and Palestine territory (JO&PS) to develop practical and innovative VET courses

and promote cooperation between companies and VET institutions as well as create links between all

stakeholders of the Agri-Food value chain, focusing on university-enterprise cooperation.

Specific objectives:

1. Establish a network and exchange of good practices (start with 8 partners as a baseline and will

be expanded to over 100 partners during the course of project execution);

2. VET system requirements analysis in JO&PS in the Agri-Food sector: generating a

comprehensive report including current and future shortages of skilled human resources,

required curriculum or appropriate technology and eLearning experiences, and experience in

university-business cooperation in EU;

3. Establish Innovative Centres (in total 5 centres) in all JO&PS universities partners (AgroTec

centre) to conduct training and vocational courses (to improve the lack of skilled human

resources in JO&PS); One of the missions of the AgroTec centre is to encourage youth working

in agriculture sectors by using smart technology (Youth loves smart tools) which will increase

the usage of technology and skilled human employment and reflect the whole society;

4. Design and develop vocational courses (including eLearning materials) and teach Innovative

Agri-Food technologies in a demand-oriented way in cooperation with EU universities and

partner companies. Each partner country university will develop one course in smart tools for

precision agriculture and one course in agrarian trade and marketing (a total of 12 modules);

5. Execute 4 courses (In-Person, and Online) from the 12 developed modules for students, staff,

and professionals from stakeholders of the Agri-Food value chain.
